Noteflight Announces New Product for K-12 Education
Noteflight’s web-based music notation is now available to K-12 educators and private music instructors at the touch of a button
January 13, 2011 (NAAM) Anaheim, CA —
Noteflight, LLC (http://www.noteflight.com), a company dedicated to reinventing the way people create, share and use written music, today announced the launch of Noteflight Classroom and Noteflight Studio, the next generation of its cloud-based music notation software for K-12 and private music instruction which enables educators to instantly set up a dedicated music learning website on Noteflight’s servers. After making an online purchase, instructors are provided with a private Noteflight web community in which they can immediately enroll their students and begin creating and sharing musical scores and activities. The administrative tools that are built into Noteflight Classroom and Noteflight Studio relieve teachers of the need to integrate with external learning management systems. Schools benefit by not having to undertake a major investment in desktop notation software limited to use in labs: students can access Noteflight from any location, including from home. Private Music instructors can purchase Noteflight Studio, a smaller Noteflight community that provides music teachers with their own Noteflight web community to interact with students both in the studio and between lessons.
“We consider K-12 educators as a critical constituency within our customer base and are striving to make it easier for teachers to purchase and get started.” said Joe Berkovitz, President and Founder of Noteflight, “Although some schools require that Noteflight integrate with its learning management system, many teachers don’t need this and just want to directly enroll their class and get started with Noteflight immediately. Schools also appreciate that Noteflight is constantly updating its software online so they are not subject to the nuisance of traditional software upgrades and version mismatches”.
Noteflight Classroom and Noteflight Studio are affordable, approachable alternatives to desktop notation programs such as Sibelius and Finale.
